Recluse’s Weekend Getaway… Part 1

Velio’s Day Was Crazy

As you all have guessed, one of my numerous nicknames is Velio which reminds me of Lord Cornholio XD … Anyway back to my weekend, the plan that my mom and Uncle P (birthday boy) had chalked out consisted of me and my mom dropping over at their place in the evening (Saturday) and then stay the night over. This plan let my mom finish her work shift and give me a chance to get my camera fixed (Apparently the memory slot lock was dead so it had to be replaced). So waking up early I got ready, packed my rucksack and got out in search of the elusive service center.

After a bit of googling I realized that I would have to travel by public transport to the other corner of the city and the journey would last an hour and a half. It has been ages since I last went to that part of town and was pretty happy because I was sure that I could stay entertained in case the repair center took more than an hour or two. So there I was traveling among crying babies and noisy commuters and boy was I happy to get off that vehicle. After getting the directions to the center I was told that it would take 5-6 hours for the job to be completed, I do not remember what was crazier; my eyebrows disappearing into my scalp or my jaw hitting the ground faster than the speed of light.  So along with the 1 1/2 hour journey I had to kill another 5-6 hours not to mention the extra hour and a half I would have to kill after picking up the camera… Oh Boy!!

I decided to spend my time at the Art Gallery and the Museum which are two of my very favorite places. It was scarily sunny and humid on this particular day which discouraged me from roaming on the streets or sitting in any park SO I trudged along to the Art gallery.  I was really impressed by the artists that were showcasing their art because I have seen crappy “commercial” art before, To see art speak to you in this age is very difficult and there was this particular abstract painting that seemed random but I swear I could see a corridor, door and 2 closets there. I was really annoyed when the snobs came in and simply walked like they were taking a stroll in a park >_< The paintings that really shook me were those painted by a pair of twin brothers who were MUTE… The older twin had paintings of children and I noticed their eyes (children) to be really sad and lacking innocence unlike that of real children. The younger twin had paintings of centaurs, Minotaur and satyrs… Very interesting to notice all the animal paintings except one had eyes like that of a cow, a lone Minotaur had the fiercest eyes but the most calm mouth line.

Next was my visit to the museum where I spent a long time in the Natural History section BUT I ruined the rest by purchasing a huge bottle of water (You are not allowed to carry food/water inside). So I killed around 25 minutes with these stray kittens that were gamboling in the cafeteria. One of the visitors tried hitting on me but sort of teleported away when he saw the kitten LOL. So I had to leave after kissing the kittens good bye… Time killed so far???? ONLY 2 HOURS… So I decided to wait out the rest of the 2-3 hours inside the repair center, marching back to the center HOPING that the job was done made the walk kinda stressful.

Entering the shop sweaty, tired and cranky I was prepared to sit out the 2-3 hours, After waiting for an hour the people decided to toss the bomb on my noggin.. I had to come back on Monday to pick up my camera. My mind stopped working for a few seconds and then I heard an eerie laugh in my head, I think that was me going temporarily insane… I mean I was desperate to take the camera to the party later in the evening and then I am being told that I would get it TWO DAYS after the party. Yep, I was ready to beg, borrow and steal a camera at that point LOL. So paying the dude there an advance, picking up my receipt I walked up to the station. My mom asked me to come to her office and wait out the 2 hours there until her shift ended… YAY!! THREE AD A HALF HOURS TO KILL >_>

After traveling I was now hungry, cranky, sweaty and tired. Not to mention the civil war going on in my left knee between my ligaments and joint,  It was pretty annoying because the pain had been nagging me since I got out of my place and got me a bit worried because of the party later on. The 2 hours was spent partially entertained, partially bored but mainly tired. Thankfully mom got to get out early so we headed over to the station for another half an hour journey. Now I was sick of traveling LOL but it was not the end for we had to take a cab to my Uncle’s place and this journey lasted 45 minutes…  I was now ready to either crawl into my grave OR rip my hair out, both unacceptable because I did not know where I would find a graveyard there and the other option might leave people wondering why instead of a lot of hair I had only tufts attached to my bleeding scalp.

FINALLY WE REACHED HIS PLACE… I felt like a sailor who had been on a ship for months on end, just wanted to kiss the ground and sob maybe get into fetal position and simply sob :D And that boys and girls was part 1 of my 2 day getaway….
